The worldwide Yoga community loses the most influential teacher and founder of YogaWorks. According to her partner,Chuck Miller, May Ezraty died unexpectedly at the young age of 55 only on Tokyo, Japan.
Ezraty’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
YogaWorks was co-founded by Ezraty back in 1987 in a studio in Santa Monica, CA and developed with Chuck Miller, her partner in life and business. They helped Yoga become mainstream, offering more than 120 classes per week to more than 700 students daily.
In addition to teaching students, Ms. Ezraty instructed teachers as well and brought prominent yoga instructors together in Santa Monica, California for daily classes. She hosted workshops and mentored many of today’s leading yoga teachers and instructors.
Today is a sad day for all yogis and yoga communities around the world, losing a true pioneer without whom yoga classes as we know today would simply not be the same.
